Choosing the Right Slicer
PrusaSlicer, Cura or Bambu Studio? We'll help you choose.
A slicer is software that converts a 3D model into printer instructions (G-code). Your choice depends on your printer:
🟠 PrusaSlicer • Best for: Prusa, but works with all printers • Pros: Tree supports, great default profiles, open-source • Con: Fewer plugins
🔵 Ultimaker Cura • Best for: Creality, Anycubic and others • Pros: Huge community, many plugins, simple UI • Con: Slower on older computers
🟢 Bambu Studio / OrcaSlicer • Best for: Bambu Lab printers, but works elsewhere • Pros: Fastest slicing, great profiles, auto supports • OrcaSlicer: open-source fork with more options
💡 For beginners, we recommend Cura or PrusaSlicer.
