Nylon – High-Performance Technical Material

Nylon offers exceptional toughness and durability. Printing requires experience.
Nylon (PA6, PA12, PA-CF) is among the strongest available materials for FDM printing:
✅ Advantages: • Exceptional toughness and impact resistance • High heat resistance (120–180 °C depending on type) • Chemical resistance (oils, fuels, weak acids) • Low friction coefficient (self-lubricating sliding parts) • Excellent fatigue resistance (springs, clips)
⚠️ Disadvantages: • Extremely moisture-sensitive – always dry before printing! • Strong warping – enclosed chamber required • Requires hardened nozzle for PA-CF or PA-GF • Difficult bed adhesion
🌡 Print settings: • Nozzle: 240–270 °C • Bed: 70–90 °C • Chamber: recommended (min. 40 °C) • Cooling: Minimal • Bed surface: Garolite (G10) or PEI with Magigoo PA
🔧 Tips: • Dry 8–12 hours at 70–80 °C before printing and after opening package • Print first layer slowly (15–20 mm/s) • PA-CF: Significantly higher strength, but needs hardened steel nozzle • Ideal for: gears, bearing housings, structural parts
