Printing at 300+ mm/s

How to achieve extreme speeds without losing quality.
Modern printers like Bambu X1C or Voron can print 300–500 mm/s:
⚡ Prerequisites for high speed: • Direct drive extruder • High-performance hotend (Volcano, High Flow) • Rigid frame (CoreXY kinematics) • Klipper firmware with Input Shaping • Active cooling of hotend and print
⚙️ Slicer settings: • Acceleration: 5,000–20,000 mm/s² (with IS) • Jerk: 8–20 mm/s • Flow rate: check maximum nozzle flow • Nozzle diameter 0.6–1.0 mm for high flow
📊 Maximum nozzle flow: • Standard E3D V6: ~8–12 mm³/s • Volcano: ~20–25 mm³/s • CHT/Bondtech High Flow: ~30 mm³/s • Obxidian: ~30 mm³/s
⚠️ Hotend melting capacity and filament feeding are the limiting factors, not movement speed.
