Multi-Color Printing with Single Nozzle
Techniques for color prints without a multi-material system.
No AMS or MMU? You can still print in multiple colors:
🎨 Method 1: Filament swap • Pause print at a specific layer height • Manually swap filament • Suitable for horizontal color stripes • In slicer: Add Color Change (M600)
🎨 Method 2: Tie-dye / gradient • Manually join two filaments into one strand • Result: natural color transitions
🎨 Method 3: Post-print painting • Print in white or gray • Paint with acrylic paints (great for figurines) • Use airbrush for gradient effects
🎨 Method 4: Embedded coloring • Pause + insert pre-colored inset • Great for text and logos
💡 Tip: Plan the model so color changes align with layer boundaries.
