TMC drivers + anti-vibration feet = the cheapest and most effective combination
Printer noise comes from several sources. Each one is addressed differently.
- Stepper Motors
- Without TMC drivers: loud tok-tok | With TMC2208/2209: almost silent
- Fans
- Cheap fans: 50-60 dB | Noctua or better: 35-40 dB
- Frame Vibration
- Resonance of the frame on the table - anti-vibration pads or a heavy table
- Bed-slinger (moving bed)
- Mass bed movement = more vibration than CoreXY
TMC drivers (Stealth Chop) TMC2208 or TMC2209 drivers in silent mode almost eliminate motor noise. Most modern printers have them from the factory.
Anti-vibration feet: Silicone or TPU feet under the printer absorb vibrations and prevent transfer to the table and floor.
CoreXY vs. Bed-Slinger: CoreXY (Bambu, Voron, QIDI) only moves the print head - quiet and fast. Bed-slingers (Ender, Prusa MK) move a heavy mat - more vibrations.

A practical checklist ranging from the least expensive to the most effective solutions.
1. TPU anti-vibration feet: Print or buy silicone printer feet. Price <100 Kč, immediate effect on vibrations and noise transmission.
2. Replacing fans: Noctua NF-A series or GDStime are quiet replacements for original fans. Main effect for part cooling and PSU fan.
3. TMC drivers (if not present): Upgrade on motherboard with TMC2208/2209 or 2240 drivers. For old printers (Ender 3 v2+) they can be retrofitted.
4. Enclosure: A closed chamber absorbs 10-15 dB of noise. The combination with a sound dampening material (bitumen, foam insert) is very effective.
5. Solid work table or anti-resonance mat: A printer on a solid wood table or stone pith board will resonate less than a light table.
